Networks

We are currently mapping the provision of film screening resources within rural communities to identify gaps in services and support needed. We really need to hear about what you currently do; what works, and what would you like to do but feel you can’t. Our aim is to create 3-6 pilot networks in partnership with selected Local Authorities which will help the organisations within the area to promote moving image access, participation and learning.

The survey questionnaire can be downloaded here.

Please complete and return the questionnaire to Lynne Stanford, Networks Development Manager at lynne@regionalscreenscotland.org

The process

The information we gather here will inform our future projects, funding streams and the support and training we would look to offer.

The information was compiled and evaluated in December. In January 2010 we will contact everyone to let you know where the pilots are taking place. In March the pilot networks will start – we will endeavor to ensure that everyone who responds to the questionnaire has the opportunity to benefit from activities within a network.

Areas of Scotland involved

Because this is a pilot project over only 1 year, we are currently in the first stage of the mapping process. Stage 1 involves the following areas: Aberdeenshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Highlands, Inverclyde, Moray, North Ayrshire, Orkney, Stirling, West Dunbartonshire and Western Isles. The pilot networks will be selected within these areas based on the number of groups within the area that respond. Each network will determine how they will operate and what benefits they want to focus on. (Regional Screen Scotland’s role is supportive).

Stage 2 and 3 will be mapped at a later date, and if practical we will try to start networks within these areas as well. If you are outside the Stage 1 areas it is still important to complete the questionnaire now so that we can begin to identify potential opportunities for other networks to be developed. Please see below for a break down of the areas:
